Assessment of pulmonary function

Assessment of pulmonary function plays a vital role in the investigation and monitoring of patients with and at risk of respiratory disease. The interpretation of pulmonary function tests requires knowledge of respiratory physiology and should always be made within the context of the patient’s history and examination findings.
